Public Display of Affection

I stretched across the table
receiving the offered bite willingly.
The patrons watched offended
at the public display.
I didn't understand their censure
but neither did I care.
As I reached across
and made contact
I knew from her eyes
what the night promised.
The frenzied need
for one another
would consume us.
The roles of dominant
and subordinate
would be reversed
repeatedly
until we fell
exhausted together.
